So, why has it taken me nearly two weeks to do these little messy panels??? Well, I’m not yet besties with my tech setup. I’ve been trying out the new tablet’s Instant Pen Display function, which is still in beta mode, and doesn’t really work super well… It turns this standalone tablet into a screen display tablet with wifi! But sadly, it’s just not really functional yet. I gave up last week cos the pen was about 5mm away from the point I wanted it to be pointing to at various times, and today, it’s been loads better and not doing that, but it is quite laggy. I was pretty excited to discover that I can still get a driver for my old screenless Intuos, but as it turns out, that’s not really up to scratch either. It will work nicely for a few minutes, then glitch out and freeze, which I can easily unfreeze by nudging the mouse, but it doesn’t make for a seamless drawing experience. Poor little tablet. Still, I had an OK time drawing the above comic today using the instant pen display function – it’s just not something I can see myself using long term. I don’t feel like this tablet has been a total loss though! I just think it might be my carry-around-and-sketch standalone (what it is basically designed to do), so I think it’s time to trade in my iPad and buy a second hand screen display tablet. 🙂
Hopefully the next time I post on here I’ll have a happier set up and can use my brain for something actually interesting again.
