I’ve been spending most of the day despairing a bit – the 3rd of January – maybe this day just feels awful for everyone? Totally flat out depressed today. Had such a hard time trying to have fun doing a little fan art. It always feels particularly frustating when I’m trying to have fun. I’ve been watching / listening along to Whyt Manga’s youtube videos on Clip Studio Paint. It’s a little dizzying trying to keep up with their processes, but the videos are super helpful and lots of fun too.
I was trying out vector drawing first, but I am so not happy with how that turned out, I don’t even want to post it here. It’s just a bit of ‘bad’ anime, but I’m glad I gave it a go. I want to get a bit more confident with digital colouring work as well as line work, so wish me well.
Well, here’s my Jessie anyway. I’m happy-ish with this drawing – for all the work it took it doesn’t feel particularly special, but then that’s why I need to continue to practice. Her left hand just isn’t right, but I’m pretty happy with most of the linework, and although the face doesn’t feel like it is really what I wanted, it’s nice to have come up with a unified feeling style (?) – that’s pretty unusual for me. 🙂
